BASC Training and Education Survey - closes midday 18 August

Recommended Posts

Intended to wait until closer to the time running out but will now be shooting then.

Based on the premise that PW membership reflects the attitude of the general wider shooting population, that was a good/clever move and you've (BASC) cracked it.

Done ne'er-the-less.

Thanks for completing the survey. We raised awareness of the survey in lots of ways - including on PW.

Two weeks on from the survey closure date is it too soon to give an idea/ballpark indication of the results obtained?

I have asked if we intend reporting on the findings.

Many thanks.

My gut is giving me a feeling about this but will say no more until the server situation has cleared up as it's making any conversation somewhat difficult.

If you would like a conversation feel free to email me at conor.ogorman@basc.org.uk to arrange one.

Once again, many thanks.

The only question I have can be answered simply by a 'yes' or 'no' (handy until the server problem is sorted).

Everything seems to be happening all at once. I think the expression is 'burying the bad news'. For such an important topic, I can't fathom why BASC would initiate a survey having just a 9 day response duration in the middle of the summer holiday and while the ladies are kicking a ball about in a world championship which had grabbed everyone's attention and expect a comprehensive response. It's beginning to seem to me that education/training is in vogue although I'm happy to be proven wrong as it's only a vague gut feeling.

The question is, is BASC involved in, or have any knowledge of, any moves to introduce either mandatory or voluntary training/education which may or may not be associated with firearms licence applications?

This interest should not be taken as any opinion which I may or may not have on the matter which I reserved for the survey in question.
