Gamebore Dark Storm Steels

Anyone used the dark storm biowad steels in the larger shot sizes - especially 1's, 2's and 3's?

I'm curious as to how well they perform, and how well they protect the barrel and chokes compared to a standard plaswad.

Am using these in no4 on my flight pond this year as fed up with finding wads all over the place. So far so good.

I bought 50 just to try on syndicate days last year. 32g 4’s. They were fantastic, shot through 1/2 choke on both barrels and they really do work. I know they cost a few quid but they’re fantastic especially if the birds are of a decent height

£18 a box of 25 here in Devon ,shame a good cartridge .thats the 35 gram ones.

What shot sizes have you used with these 3 inchers?

I always use 2 s for the geese .

so you are whinging at the price of dark storm....looking at Just cartridges, if you buy a slab, it works out at £15.30 for 25..... I use these for over ponds/splashes or when not expecting any geese at all.... as my other go to cartridge is game bore mammoth in steel 36 gm 3's and £8.90 for 10!    BTW the lead equivalent, dark storm with Quad seal is £14.40 a box of 25!

My local shop are charging £13 for 10 Mammoths!
