TIGHTCHOKE
Stockybasher and I have been planning to get out together for a while now and the bloody weather has been poor enough to stop us. Today we managed to meet up near Benwick. Five minutes after parking in the yard, we got a text asking if it was us? The chap driving the tractor across the fields had phoned his boss. We changed our footwear and headed south along the track. We were heading for a gate between two farms which is kept locked due to visits from the temporary housing hare chasing society. When we got to the gate........................................
TIGHTCHOKE
It was locked and the code number we had did not unlock it. Texts sent to the farmer who stated he had been through it yesterday, oh try this number, different to the one we had. It did NOT open it. More messages to the farmer and he came along and checked the number I had dialled in and then walloped the lock, it then begrudgingly unlocked. Hoorah, we can get to the trees we wanted to be under. We parked up, and wandered round to get on the lee side of the trees. There weren't many birds around, but at least we were out in the fresh air. Two or three times it tried to rain, but it never came to much. You will be pleased to see I was using the correct cartridges. The weather at one point didn't look too promising, but it went away. And at the end of the day the sun even came out.
marsh man
Nice report and a fine set of photos T C , that ground look really heavy , a bit like the Lincolnshire soil , although you were playing at home today and not away , I hope your standard is a bit better than one in four

I was with TIGHTCHOKE and he he enjoyed a great stand under the (4) birds ! I got 76.................aah, just remembered, no that was another day / another time - older and easily confused these days !! At least we know there are very few about, which I put down to the months of rain in this area. Fields are awash, drillings are/have failed, so little food for the pesky pigeons. Maybe they will come back........ Keep smiling !! ☹️ Edited March 5 by stockybasher spelling !
TIGHTCHOKE
Friday looks favourable with at least a good breeze. Hopefully we will try another farm out on the Flat lands.
Old Boggy
That ground does indeed look a bit claggy, but at least you got out, that`s the main thing. Thanks for posting and glad to see only red cartridges used. OB
JKD
Those skies do look a bit moody 😟 At least out on "the flat lands" you can see what the weather gods are sending your way 🥳 1 hour ago, Old Boggy said: That ground does indeed look a bit claggy, but at least you got out, that`s the main thing. TIGHTCHOKE
I am clearing up some old cartridges, the Farmer insists upon fibre wads and these old RED cartridges fit the bill. They work very well through an old Escort with a short barrel and 1/4 choke, you initially have to have something to shoot at and then have to connect through the gaps in the trees. I bought a large quantity from a Member on here, they were on their way to the auction. I took a large quantity out for my eldest Sons collection and am working my way through the rest. Very happy that they cycle through my old Escort without a problem. Hopefully I can finish them off tomorrow.
