BobbyH
Growing up, We have always given our family dogs Rawhide treats and pig's ears.... But hearing a rumour recently, are they bad for our furry companions?
Svenandolaf
Definitely avoid rawhide, it’s cheap and nasty. It’s generally bleached and can also cause internal blockages. Pig ears should be fine though?
Bigbob
Just got a bag of raw pigs ears and will be giving them to all the dogs including the daughters daft spaniel . I get pork crackling and give them a slice of that raw but some times i cook it and they go crazy from it . You can get it from supermarkets dead cheap . Where as rawhide including the chews are dyed and supposed to be bad for them
Arpee
Pigs ears are super fattening, so depending on how quickly they get through them you'll have to adjust their food intake. I've switched to buffalo tails. You can cut them into pieces, they have lower fat content and they last alot longer.
rimfire4969
Mine have white fish skin cubes, seem good for their teeth and they love them. Low fat and high in protein. Not the fancy bags my local pet shops sells for a premium but online basic packaging bigger bag.
williamwansbeck
Dried sprats, the rawhide stuff is just short of poisonous ,chemicals used on it's treatment are nasty and can accumulate in strength.
spandit
Saw some ostrich fillets in a pet shop today - they looked good enough for me to eat!
