Gordon R
My daughter in law owns a couple of children's nurseries and kindly lets me do unpaid maintenance work. On Friday, made a two new covers for a rabbit run, on the side of the shed, which means the rabbits can go outside without getting soaked. They have only two rabbits and the shed / shelter / pen look way over the top for just two rabbits - picture 2. Looking around the rest of the area, there is a whole lot of woodwork, which needs constant work - replacing, wood treatment. The large shed in the back centre of picture 5 was £10k. It seems like the Forth Bridge to me, with non-stop work just staying still. This is only part of the play area, there is another round the front of the nursery, with Shipwreck island and a junior jungle. The kids seem spoilt for choice. I have seen other nurseries with a tenth of the facilities. If it was just this one, but she owns another, which requires constant work. I have done more woodwork in the last couple of years than I have in the last 25 years. Edited August 18 by Gordon R
udderlyoffroad
Would one of those sprayers be worth investing in? Business expense of course, as she’s getting your labour for free
oldypigeonpopper
Hello, One must congratulate your daughter for doing a very good worth while business with 2 nurseries for young children, we need more like this all over the UK , but it is not an easy type of Company to run with so much red tape and costs, timber products will always need to be maintained but you can only do your best Gordon, 👍

TIGHTCHOKE
Unfortunately you do far too good a job and have made a rod for your own back. Keep up the good work.
Gordon R
udderlyoffroad - my eldest lad has a compressor and spray gun for fencing - I know as I bought them for him. He had been brush painting the wood preserver, but I suggested he get out the sprayer. Cover the area behind a fence so the liquid doesn't go everywhere or onto the floor and get spraying. Could do the lot in a morning. The other problem is the work done by the previous handyman. He was salaried / full time, but left after it was discovered that he was using the nursery materials, time and vehicle to set up his own business - which he still runs. His construction skills could best be described as unsafe - many aspects were just dangerous. Every repair uncovers more botched jobs, exposed sharp end of screws. One screw or a nail instead of three screws for stability. I read his adverts on Facebook and laugh at the flimsy construction. Cowboy would be kind.
