@Old Boggy How was your Xmas OB ? Presents well received, and used I hope 😁

They were very well and most gratefully received and one set used on Christmas day and Boxing day evenings at my daughter`s where they were greatly admired and received a :good: from friends and family. My daughter especially, loves things made by her old Dad and she now has a cabinet where she displays a few of my previous home made bits and bobs, so she absolutely loved the board, knives and the two stands.

So much so, that two of my older Grandsons now want a set for them and their partners, so it`s back in the shed sometime in the New Year. Fortunately their birthdays are a little later in the year so they`ll have to be patient and it gives me a bit more time. I`m sure that the next two will be far quicker to make as all my mistakes, of which there were quite a few, have already been made. Like all projects, the more you do/make, the quicker and easier things become.

However, before that, I`ve a little project with a bit of cast iron that requires my attention first.

This is the first of 4 cheese boards and associated cheese knives that will be Xmas gifts for family. They will be a surprise as no-one in my family ever look at PW. They think I`m looking at tractor porn for hours on end.

The boards were supplied by the lady who did the laser engraving so I take no credit for that, but I`m very pleased with them and they are from olive wood and will be treated with olive oil prior to being wrapped up, so not shown at their best at present.

I have shown the first 4 of 16 cheese knives to be completed. The ones shown are from Zebrano wood and the others are from Zebrano, Elm and Olive wood. They have yet to receive a final polish. The handles are purposely made different shapes and profiles.

The olive wood gave off a beautiful olive aroma whilst turning but proved quite difficult to get a smooth finish on them.

I`ve been thinking how to present the knives and the only solution that I`ve come up with so far are velvet purse type thingies (as photo). I may well think of some sort of wooden rack to house them. Got a bit of time to think between now and Xmas. No doubt Shambam1961 could suggest something so I`m, open to any suggest in that regard.

I only hope the recipients like them (I`m sure they will) and get as much pleasure from them as I have making them. It is so therapeutic.

Thanks for looking.

Looks fantastic. You should sell them. I would love to buy a set or 2.
