Fil
I buy and sell at Harperfield. They're quite good auctioneers and have regular sporting sales.

TRINITY
Once fancied a gun at their auction. Never bought it, by the time you add all the fees, it went for more than I could have picked it up retail. No doubt you may grab the odd bargain but some stuff also went for daft money
arjimlad
I get the impression their estimates can be on the low side to draw in the punters.

That’s very true….and it worked! I saw a 20bore O/U ejector single trigger multi choke on there for £20-£40. Sent for £240 A yildiz SPZ .410 ME. £100-200 valuation, went for £300! udderlyoffroad
I put some bids in today for what I thought was strong money & everything went for way more. Pretty sure it’s all amateurs bidding each other up, no way the trade is getting stock from auctions at this point.

I had it on live, listening to it while I was working and there was no money in them for dealers. They do get a lot of international buyers. Perhaps that's why? Feltwad
Has to online gun auctions the best off are the auctioneers The buyer on buying a item online will have a commission of 30to 35 % on the hammer price , if he cannot attend the auction he will have the cost of postage , if it is a in house p&p this will average £45to £65 if you require a courier are lucky and find one has most will not entertain the carrying of guns the average cost in the UK will £90 to £120 there will be a cost For your local RFD, For the seller this averages 15% is charged Feltwad
