mossy835
early in the year i lost 2 farms for building, another farmer has now rented them, one has 70 acres of rape, and the other has just been drilled with wheat.both farms are next to each other.there not on rape at all yet, but going on the drill wheat.iv never seen so many pigeons i my life they were comeing on to it in droves.but they would not decoy at all. so i stood under a oak tree where they were going, hit 38 of them. if they would decoy it would have been well over a ton.nice day

ditchman
sounds to me like a flock of migrant birds.......they tend to arrive this time ofyear...i have never been able to decoy them...and i have always stood under their flightline which usually lasted 5 or 6 days.... you could set your clock by their coming and going...then all of a sudden they would dissapear.. old'un
Yep, there does seem to-be some big numbers about at the minute, most I have seen at this time of year for a long time, it could be a good sign for the coming winter or as ditchman said, just passing migrants, time will tell. the hitman
Good effort Mossy Always a challenge at this time of year- many of my permissions are off limits because of game shooting. 38 is a great result- good effort. Hitman
