Dead-Eyed Duck
Time for the wife to buy me one of her prezzie's for me (one of many I hope). So, I recall reading abut a new type of hand warmer that is a bit like the olde charcoal type, but runs on lighter fuel and is a lot better. Does anyone know of the name, and how they work? Are they any good? Waiting in anticipation Don
webber
Don I think they are called Peacock hand warmers. They are advertised in the comics most months. Deeko had some on his counter top a few months ago. Im not sure that I would use one; would you?? really. webber

All you have to do is to wrap your hands around your fat wallet and never feel cold again Now when you are 'on the tops' of the Welsh hills at night, waiting for a fox, then it's cold enough to freeze your knackers off. webber
Don Not quite right. If I am ever on the top of a Welsh mountain with you at night waiting for a fox, I'll lamp and hold your hand warmer, you can shoot. Fair weather sailor me mate! webber

Don http://www.peacockhandwarmers.co.uk/ They had a big display at the BASC roadshow at Haydock Park last week but I had bought one a month or so earlier, My tip is not to buy the giant version, just go for the standard one. The disconcerting thing is you don't put them out but let them heat away till empty. They are very good though, much better than the old charcoal stick types. Hope this helps Mr Potter

Gordon R
Paid £5.00 for Peacock on Ebay. Wife just bought me a chemical one. Shake the bag and it last all day. The only warmth I got was the exercise. Much use as a chocolate fireguard. I will stick with the Peacock.
