Pretty sure they are mainly made by the same company but have various brands etc printed on them. You most likely know but Hornaday 17 or 20gr seem to be most common but buy one box and try, if they are good go back and buy a shed load. Always found CCI pretty useless and I think they make .17's.

Mine would put all shots on a drawing pin at 100yds using Federal 17grn any others at best would shoot 1.5 inch

Similar experience here, but of late they don't group well or are consistent anyhow. Hornady and Winchester were desperate for splitting necks now I find the Federals do similar. All are made by CCI with exception of the Winchester ammo I believe.

Great little rifle/round, can hit plenty with it, rabbits & fox etc. and even set the odd clay out at 200+ yards and accurate enough to hit them on sticks.

Only ever used Hornady 17 gr over the past 12 years not needed to change because they have done everything I wanted of them.

I did have a couple of squib rounds 10 years ago but no problems since.

Thanks. I used Hornady many years ago when I owned a .17HMR. I'm buying another one (as soon as my FAC renewal is sorted)
