Grandalf
Well, this is a turn-out for the books. After the Memsahib died a few months ago, I decided to downsize on the house. Last week I moved four miles north. Car insurance went up £70. Land Rover insurance went up £30. Had to change the telephone number that I have had, with a few additions, for the last 44 years and, if that wasn't bad enough, my new next door neighbour tells me that I will now start to develop web feet in a couple of months or so. Such is the price of moving from Suffolk across the River Waveny into Norfolk. Oh, the shame of it... Edited February 3 by Grandalf

When I moved it was the other way round , we lived on a island that was prune to flooding according to the insurance companies although we hadn't had a flood since 1953 , since then the river defence have been upgraded a few times and if I had got flooded then god help them who were in a lower area. Our insurance went down when we moved and BT kept us the same number so apart from the stress of moving it wasn't that bad . Still , your money was well spent to leave the likes of those rough ole lot in Suffolk and move into calmer waters into Norfolk , as for web feet then don't worry about it , the problem really start when you get a ring of feathers around your backside Edited February 3 by marsh man
BobbyH
I love Norfolk. After living in different counties for my life, I have loved Norfolk the most, and am happy I’m back
Miserableolgit
Our last move was similarly just over the border from Suffolk to Norfolk. That was 11 years ago now but I don't recall that it had any impact on costs as such other than our last place had a fairly reliable landline, mains drainage etc. The 'new' place is more off the beaten track and has neither yet council tax is just as expensive. No my man , wrong county and not only that , they talk a lot different to us and we would never be able to understand them I was born on a island on the outskirts of Great Yarmouth called Cobholm Island in 47 and we got badly flooded in 53 , although the Great have gone out of Yarmouth years ago when E U residents started to fill up the empty hotels ,now you hear every language under the sun and many more no one know anything about .
