dustyfox
Hatton will get cut in the third, Mayweather will try to work on the cut above the right eye. When he thinks he has him beaten Ricky will explode in the fifth and sixth, by 8 they will be ready to throw the towel in. May "Im a bit of a gangsta" will end up on his **** and the travelling fans will be over the proverbial.Good old English fighting spirit will see him through If the fight is won within 5 rounds hatton has won if not god bless him and hopefully there will be rematch
Yorkshire Pudding
Ok here we go ... The ring to my understanding is either 22 or 24 foot square , Our Mr. Hatton is used to fighting in an eighteen foot ring . HEAD SAYS Gayweather will give a few jabs , and run round the ring , away from our boys fists . Gayweather on points . HEART SAYS Run fast Hatton an give him those BANGING fists , YOU WILL DO IT ! So who's up at 3:30 ? For the action at 4 ? all the best yis yp
Guest The Outlaw
Ricky needs to hit Mayflower's hands after the half way point and win it on tech KO. I have been watching the 24/7 program covering the build up to this fight and I think if MW's hands hold out he could out box Ricky but not out fight him. Ricky has loads more bottle and loads of venom in his punches but is he a mover. Hands and cuts will decide it. Tony
russuk
There's no doubt that at light-welter Hatton would beat anyone around today. Probably one of the best ever at that weight. But he's fighting at welter, I wonder how much the size advantage, reach, height and weight will count. Worst case scenario I can see Mayweather, one of the best defensive boxers of all time spending 12 rounds japping him from distance and cutting him with those choppy right hands he posseses. And when Hatton does get in there, Mayweather is an awesome counter puncher and vert very fast. Hatton is strong, but he's strong at light welter, I can't see he has much of an advantage there. Mayweather will not mind one bit if he fights the most boring fight of his life, that's what he does and how he wins. Best case scenario, Hatton does what we all think he'll do, pressure pressure presure, throws a hell of a lot of punches and hurt Mayweather with constant presure. Let's not forget though, Hatton is a bloody good boxer not just a brawler. I see no reason why Hatton can't outbox Mayweather. Or maybe he'll suprise us all and bring something else to the table. Lets hope we have another Hagler vs Hearns on the cards. COME ON RICKY!!!!

Hatton has had more matches, (43-0, 31 KOs) Maywheather has had (38-0, 24 KOs) Hatton has had more matches but he has had less rounds than maywheather so Hatton will have to knock him out early to have the advantage. russuk
The question a lot of people are asking is does Hatton have the power to hurt a true 147lbs'er? I can't say yay or nay, but with Hatton it's never been about power, but sheer volume of punches. But the question still stands, does he have the firepower to hurt the bigger man? salisburykeeper
i think hatton will close the fight early , if he doesnt the fight will probably be stopped from his face opening up , i hear the yank has got an advantage over hatten apparently hatten has been training on the punchbag and the yank has been on the american strictly come dancing........? i hope hatten knocks him into next week, i hate that program if i was hatten i wouldnt be bothered if i won or not ,apparently he stands to clear 7million quid for the fight! lucky sod

Its an interesting one that. He usually fights at light-welterweight and he's now up againts a heavy guy in Mayweather punching in at the welterweight He fought (ony once before) Luis Collazo at welterweight last year and limped over the line to gain a points victory The fight is expected to start around 4am, but depending on the under card it could be nearer 5am I'm in for the duration. Its getting tense Jonno

Its getting tense Jonno The Collazo fight was awful. I remember then thinking stay at light-welter. The difference between this one and the other time at welterweight is the training. Hatton openly admits he ****** that one up training wise and his preperation was ****. He's much much stronger and fitter now. Kerry Kays has him on a weights programme that would make a pro lifter wince. But only time will tell.

russuk
Good one from the BBC website. 0402: Manfredo survives a scare as a rousing chorus of "Rule Britannia" rattles around the MGM. Hatton, meanwhile, is going through his pre-fight warm-up. I can taste it now. The fight is not far off. "Hilarious stuff from the Finnish commentators. Totally ignoring the Lacey fight, they're just incredulous that Ricky has managed to unify the City and United faithful in support of him. Is this fight being show live in Israel/Palestine? Ricky Hatton could be about to dish out world peace!" nunChucker via
