george123456789
This Christmas i am after and o/u game gun for under £500 as an upgrade from my AYA Yeoman. In my local gunroom there is a Bettinsoli Diamond Line for £460, i haven't seen it in person yet so im not sure if it fits etc, but can anyone give me any information on Bettinsoli's in general please? I saw in Sporting Shooter that they're one of the top five budget guns, but was wondering if anyone on here has any first hand experience with the guns. Thanks, George
Oly
Not keen on them myself, feel cheap. For that money, if you want new, buy a Lanber
Evil Elvis
Well thats funny, i have bettinsoli supersport and bought it over a lanber as i thought it felt cheap and couldnt get on with it, Unless you have fired one or owned one thats not a fair comment!!! My mate shoots with a diamondline, never bloody misses a thing and its never played up....great little gun, id have one as a field gun If i didn't have my semis. AdamW
I have a 20g bettinsoli and love it! I have used it over my Browning 525 for game this year, and have had no problems with it what so ever A cracking little gun that I got a good deal on and have been offered more than I paid for it, but it's going no where! Thumbs up from me Adam
tazkb
sorry but no way are lanbers any better than beti's not in my book and i have owned both, my wife pinched my betti of me and regularly beats me with it shooting clays that is tbh i do like both bettinsoli and lanber both shoot well
OneEye
I tried a Betinsolli which was not a success as the ejectors chewed up the brass and jammed the spent cartridge. Ladd's very nicely took it back and swapped it for a 2nd hand Beretta which I'm very happy with. It may have just been a duff batch as mine was the thrid they'd had back with the same problem. shooterash
Hi george123456789,I had a Bettinsoli Diamond I did not like it my self, but that doesen't mean there a bad gun. If you buy a new one, you will proberly loose alot of money on one. Your best bet is to buy a good second hand shotgun like Beretta or browning etc, you should get a nice one for £500 mark. OldBill
I've had one for nearly 20 years. Long lost the papers saying what model it was and I can't remember I was going to sell it, but couldn't bring myself to do it. It has never ever had one problem at all, hence the reluctance to get rid. For the money I would go Betty. (Yes, I am biased.) It's my shotty of choice- only my S/A goes out now for most rough shooting as I get more bang per load.
ph5172
I have had no problems with mine, it is the old type before RUAG started to import them and i understand that these guns are a bit morerefined. I chose mine over a Lanber as it seemed to feel a lot nicer to mount - but thas just me. It always goes bang and occasionally i hit some things with it too!! I really want to upgrade to a browning or similar but cant bring myself to do it...probably because of the 600 price difference!!!
dazza
My mate has a bettinsoli and it certainly doesn't feel 'cheap'. Brilliant guns for the money.
tbeagley
I have a Bettinsolli MK 3, great gun for the price. Better finish than the Lanber (wood to metal). Don't care if it loses value as i wouldnt sell it, my son can't wait to get his hands on it! This Christmas i am after and o/u game gun for under £500 as an upgrade from my AYA Yeoman.
