Suffolk shooter
I may have missed something in th not so recent changes to the forum structure, but previously when you wanted to quote someone's post, you clicked on reply (Or whatever it was called) attached to the post and hey presto it appeared in the box where you could edit as required or start your response underneath. How does this work now, as I don't seem to be able to find the button or have the knowledge??? I tried doing the link thing, but thats all it did, also copy and paste doesn't give the originators name, date, time etc. A Confused (is there any other sort) Suffolk Shooter

Dunkield
It has changed, some members new and not so new had a habit of quoting out the entire previous post just to add a one word answer. I will now wait for today's forum joker to do just that with this post

I tried doing the link thing, but thats all it did, also copy and paste doesn't give the originators name, date, time etc. A Confused (is there any other sort) Suffolk Shooter Yes we used to have a "reply" button by each post which auto-quoted it and loaded up the reply window, but many people clicked on this rather than the "add reply" at top and bottom of the page, and so many messages had needless massive quotes in them, and perhaps just a smiley face contribution. tiercel
You can also do it by adding "quote" what you want to quote, then "/quote" but instead of inverted commers use the brackets [ and ] before and after the quote and /quote. It should look like this What you are quoting will the look like this. TC
