Stu S
sounds like you all had fun, and put in some good scores too! I'm afraid that I wimped out and went to see the parents instead. Far too much of that white stuff about when i was planning to go! And before the Stu Bashings begin, I'm not a fair weather shooter, but it seemed to me that shooting in that was just plain silly! Stu

Evil Elvis
Makes me cold looking at it again, there was about 4" of snow that fell while we shot...it stopped and the sun came out as we left the last stand!!!!!

MC
It's a bit late for Just for men. An industrial size can of creosote may just do it.

I did warn you that your anti dandruff shampoo wasn't working. Roll on Lakenheath, expect a slighly tougher layout there than Barrow, , but at least slightly better weather is on the cards. Cat. Suffolk shooter
Has anybody shot lakenheath since all the trees and that have been cut down, reckon it could be a difficult layout if the wind gets up on that back section. SS
Markio
Good point SS, lots of wind up my back section always puts me off. Any Suffolk boys care to comment?
Catamong
Good point SS, lots of wind up my back section always puts me off. Any Suffolk boys care to comment? Lakenheath is always a cold, bleak and uninspiring place. They held the English Open there 3 years ago in mid May and it was still bitterly cold. It's great if you're a skeet addict, but the Sporting layout has always been an afterthought and the target quality will never be a match for other grounds more suitable for Sporting. Even grounds like Doveridge & Kingsley Moor have more character than Lakenheath. Cat.

Catamong
Good luck Guys, shoot well tomorrow, I've decided to do Southdown and then possibly Keston. Cat.
Bagsy
Cheers Cat, hope your season goes well too, I'll look forward to seeing your name in some of the big shoot offs!
Mungler
Well Lakenheath was a toughy - high towers a plenty. Carded 73/100 and that was probably the best I could have hoped for. Maybe half a dozen silly misses but the rest were good old fashioned misses. Would be interested to see the final scores.
Bagsy
Full results here http://www.lctc.co.uk/suffolk-sporting-masters.html........not good reading Certainly enjoyed the shoot though, it may have been tough but it was well worth the trip. I'd like to know how this shoot compares in the difficulty rankings compared to other registered shoots.
Markio
Looks good to me mate, hats to those that shot it. Still 'I Carter' is probably burying his gun in the back garden as we speak.
Mungler
The top score for Essex was 88, you got to appreciate that the Suffolk boys will be shooting Lakenheath every weekend and wouldn't have been surprised by any of the targets. I think that was either the 2nd or 3rd time I have shot Lakenheath. Looking forwards to the next one! Edit: Dartford have some registered shoots coming up but what is UTR, OTR, NSSA? Don't know where there are any more registered shoots that do not involve at least 1 hour in the car and me breaking all the speed limits.... Any ideas for the next one chaps? Think they're all trap disciplines Mung I think the closest registered shoots will be Hepworth Hall. Break the speed limits - you? Mungler
I don't think Hepworth Hall (The Essex Masters) is registered. Oh no, what to do next weekend? I have worked out that by shooting in Suffolk and setting off early (7 a.m. to 7.30 a.m.) we are getting back earlier than the local shoot. If you stuck for something to do then you can come to the LODWA shoot again and pay for me! Just think how good you'd feel about yourself with such a generous gesture! Bagsy
There's an English Sporting county championship at Hepworth Hall on the 18th May, this may be registered. Edited March 30, 2008 by Bagsy
