monkeyjaimz
Now then guys, I recently managed to secure a new permission of roughly 500 acres of the arguably the best 'rabbiting' land in my area  I've been a couple of times to scout out the area at differant times of day / night etc and decided tonight was the night to launch an offensive. So myself and Tim (stink£r) set off after a brew and a chip butty hoping for a good nights sport. Got to the farm about 6.45pm nice and calm with no rain (for a change) both got zeroed up within a few shots, so another quick brew then we set off. After about 10 mins into the 1st field guess what? rain, and lots of it  didnt really bother us as we were well wrapped up etc. we were just more concerned about our quarry staying indoors and limited visibility etc. after a few sightings we split up into a large paddock where we knew there was previous rabbit activity along a wooded hedgerow. I set up the bipod and sat in wait at one end of the paddock while Tim stalked the other end (about 200+ yrds). After about 7 or 8 mins (still with driving rain) I thought i'd have a quick scan with the lamp, bingo 3 sets of eyes just about within range - lamp off, safety off, flip-ups open - lamp on again for a second and I sent a Bis Mag flying towards the furthest of the three. Perfect headshot After retreiving the fat little buck from the hedegrow, I met up with Tim again who had got 2 of his own but was struggling to find them in the undergrowth etc. With the rain showing no sign of letting up, we called it a night pretty early, so ended up with a bag of one - but we're both full of beans for the light nights on the way, and at least the farmer saw us making an effort despite the **** weather Cheers, Jim.
