not a good day today.

called to a farm this morning to check some fox earths.

dog out of truck , me with shotgun. goes round the back of the farm buildings

i a big circle that takes us almost to the front door of the farm.

now Ollie is learning what a fox is, he nose was down, tail going like a good one.

he goes into a bit of cover like a train, me gun ready waiting, then its of.

Out runs a duck with Ollie up its rectum, no amount of "LEAVE IT BAD" would stop him.

he nailed it in 5 yards, i shout leave it and he dropped it straight away.

off the duck runs, but Ollie wants some more.

It runs under a broken down trailer quacking like a good UN, Ollie is off again throws a deaf UN and its round 2. 20 yards away he has it round the neck and it trying to bring it back, flapping like ****.

I put the gun on the trailer turn to the dog and it drops it at my feet, but Donald still has some left and its off again.

round 3 is in the farmers front garden, ducks in the lead, Ollie behind it me behind the dog.

Donald is now heading for the ark where all her mates are, if Ollie makes it to here its by by shooting.

The duck just makes it to the little door by the last few feathers it has,

Ollie is doing circles round the ark and tying to pull the wire off.

He sees another one on the lawn and is just about to give that one some when i dive on him.30 minutes later when i can breath again I tell him what a bad dog he is. Next i go to the farm door to try to excuse him to them , but damn there is no one home.

A quick walk round doing the earths and its back to the motor.

Who.s waiting , Mrs farmer.

Now i think the brown stuff is going to hit the fan,

but as luck has it she tells me a fox had been in last night, killed four ducks and left one badly injured round the back, she then says if you see it shoot it.

to close.but he,s only a pup

Nice one and a stroke of luck that charlie got the blame :hmm:

Had a similar thing happen but with a lurcher and a goose and a very different outcome, was told to f off and never bring that dog back here again :good: Wouldnt mind but had drove 50 mile to get to the farm and had only been out of the car 10 seconds when the goose waddled right infront of the dog :good:
