DaveP3@
Hi Again, After my recent result this week with a fox id been after for a while, thought id post about last nights shooting. Went out last night not really knowing what to expect, id had a great couple of nights this week and didnt think i could equal it let alone better it Started off at around 10pm on my biggest and best permission, set off at a slow bimble after a few bunnies. After the first 10 mins with a couple in the bag i started to think it was lining up to be a perfect NV shooting night (gentle breeze, overcast with plenty of light pollution). At around 11.30pm (with 7 in the bag) the cloud cover started to clear and the temp started to drop, it hit the dew point around this time and i almost binned it due to my NV fogging up every time i scanned the area . I sat down, had a brew whist debating what to do. I decided to wait a little longer and try an area ive not shot for quite some time....... After an hour or so of scan, demist, shoot the cloud cover started to return and within an hour it was back (which was nice), temp started to pick up so fogging decreased and also light pollution was back ! Anyway, whilst slowly bimbling down the track i very rarely shoot i happened across 3 very bright sets of eyes turned out foxy was out for a bimble too. After watching for a couple of mins 1 set of eyes went (and didnt appear again ) the other 2 pairs were still there. Again i scoped and got in a slightly better position, it turned out it was a mangy vixen with her last remaining cub (other had been despatched by land owner a week or so ago) that id seen a couple of times previous. As i knew where she and her last cub were i decided to take the shot, lined the vixen up first and delivered a humane headshot which dropped her instantly without a twich. I then quickly got rid of the cub in the same manner. Im not too sure how this post will go down with the requlars but i only shoot on the land by the grace of the landowner so needs must as they say. Pics below are of a trio of rabbits and the vixen. I didnt photograph the cub as i didnt really want to Obligatory NV pic Thanks for reading, Dave.

Cranfield
A good write-up and pics, especially the NV one. You are shooting vermin, which is why you have that permission. There is no need to justify that on here.
