Browning Posted September 14, 2004 Report Share Posted September 14, 2004 I always go for a leather boot, they (In my opinion) tend to last longer and are warmer and easier to keep waterproof. However, I think the sole is more important than the upper, and would always look for a Vibram sole on any boot I buy. They tend to keep their shape and support longer than other soles I've had. One is pair of Magnums for when it is going to be dry and the other are Altbergs, for foul weather. Lurch Posted September 14, 2004 Report Share Posted September 14, 2004 I've got some Magnum Elites. Bit sweaty and grip not so good in the mud - quickly clogs. (especially with dog **** as I found today, bitch to clean out too ) More of a street boot really. The grips are shot on the 6" pair I have and worn on the 8". I have been on the marshes for hours and hours, never had a wet foot. They are now 3 years old and still got a decent tread. £165-00 and I reckon good for another 2-3 years.
