Cranfield
Thanks for your concern Mrs Sweepy, but there was sun hats and sunlotion aplenty today and it was !!!!HOT!!!!!. Too hot for good fishing, but when I left at about 6.45pm (having caught one trout all day ) stuartp had caught three and Mark and DusktoDawn had blanked. They were all staying to the bitter end, which would be about 8.30pm. Having been throwing a fly about since 9am, I was quite happy to give it best and go home. The fishing could have been better, but the company was great.
dusk2dawn
Good grief. Thats quite clever. No it`s very old, it was a forces favourite. "What time is it mate ?"........"Cowboy time!" ........."Cowboy time, whatever do you mean??" ............" Ten to ten, ten to ten, ten to ten ten ten" (to the tune of the William Tell overture) I think you have missed the joke H its 0950..... 10 to 10.... ten to ten..... ten ter den.... Tenterden. Simple innit? We had a seriously good day, just a tad warm with church bells, steam trains , a spitfire overhead could have been in a time warp The sport was poor but the company excellent thanks lads. Dunkield
Well I have only just got home, feeling a bit tired now, but for once not burnt . . Thanks all for a good day out with great company. Special thanks to Mrs D2D/D2D for breakfast and Cranfield for carrying my fish round all day Not the weather for fishing at all, but when going gets tough etc etc. You should have seen them rising just after you left Cranners Still didn't manage to work out what they were taking but it wasn't anything we through at them anyway. We had better get one of those float fishing setups they seem to work. We should definitely do this again, with some more notice we should be able to get some more PW folk out for the next one. I'm off to beddy byes now, to dream of monster rising trout no doubt. Edited to add: I have few pictures, nothing too exciting I don't think, but I will stick any good ones up tomorrow. Dunkield
Some pics. That fish. The best time to have been fishing yesterday, just as we were packing up to leave When you have given up, all you can do is sit and watch!

To console myself at not being able to be there, I went out and chased wild turkey around for 4 hours in the morning. Calling in 3 seperate hens but no tom. Then after a quick bite to eat Trix and I loaded the boys up and took them fishing catching 38 of these........ Oh and 3 delicious plate size blue gills Hope to see you lads soon.
