Do you use it mainly for targets or do one or two deer on the hills get a taste of the .308? Just out of interest what sort of grouping would you get with it at 800 meters? lazza
Nice gun! Would you be able to tell me which model it is and what are the group sizes at 100 yds?
2shots
Nice gun! Would you be able to tell me which model it is and what are the group sizes at 100 yds? Tis the tikka t3 heavy barrel varmint and best Ive done is 5 shots in 3/4 inch circle at 100yds but I shake like a leaf due to arthritis etc so not bad,at 300 metres at the range I can average 7 out of 10 in a 2 inch bullseye. At 800+metres the targets are headshot knockdowns where we go and it gets them consistently so wouldnt know the grouping as we cant go and check.Have only used this one once on the deer 230 metre shot hit right behind the shoulder and dropped it instantly. lost the land to a richer bloke than us so mostly range work now. This ones only fired around 80 rounds now as the range days up here are few and far between so we take all the rifles.308 303/223/45.70 etc.
lazza
Thankyou. I'm in the process of purchasing either a 308 or a 30-06. Usually I would just go and buy a remmy and have the trigger done, however I am tempted to invest in a tikka.

My mate shoots a remmy in 308 cracking gun and you can buy a lot more bits for them hes just put an awesome wild dog stock on his from rimfire magic,£180 quid I think he paid, but the good news is when we went to the shop theyre developing a wild dog for the T3, sometime this year and around the same price.
