perfect
About time too, buyers can no longer receive negative or neutral feedback from the seller. I think its a good thing, whats your views? it stops comments from sellers like"leave negative and it comes back".
Cosd
Too right, I bought something from ebay that came damaged. When I asked the seller to replace it he came out with all sorts of excuses and in the end gave me £5 as compensation on a £190 item. When I gave him negative feedback he returned the compliment with something like 'I was being ungrateful'. Reported it to Ebay and they didn't want to know. 2shots
Well I just sold a grands worth of gear to a bloke who didnt pay he got a strike but hes still 100 percent positive feedback, how do other people now know this,
Cosd
Yes I did use paypal but they didn't offer much help. I bought a remote airplane, if you know anything about these they are mostly made of foam. When the item arrived it had gauges and dents all over it, but the sellers excuse was that the manufacturers had stopped making it and that any crash by me flying the thing would damage it anyway; My argument was that I paid almost £200 for a new item and it should have arrived as new. starlight32
Trouble is its a two way street- Don't forget buyers can be as dishonest as sellers. I had one geezer argue he had'nt recieved the item- even though parcelforce 48 record a digital signature which was his name in person. He then argued it was someone forged his name. E-bay awarded in my favour. E-bay is at the end of the day one up from a car boot sale- No matter what they try to tell you about 'trust in the community' laod of old poppycock... cubix
The only obligation a buyer has is to pay - if they do that then I don't see how they can have anything other than positive feedback. The point is - the buyer's £10 is of perfectly acceptable quality. It really ****** me off when I used to buy stuff, pay for it promptly and would only get feedback once I had left nice comments for the seller. It went against the spirit of the system. When I do sell, as soon as I am paid I leave good feedback. The quality of my goods/service detrmines whether I get it in return, and I'm still 100% - I have never held a buyer's positive feedback to ransom waiting until I get mine from them first. Everyone has a story about the exepction to the rule, but you can still leave negative comments if the seller does try to rip you off. It might be a two way street, but most of the traffic goes in one direction - there are far fewer non/dodgy-payers than there are dodgy sellers who peddle misdescribed goods and delivery times. salisburykeeper
cosd did you not use paypal? every 2000 positive feedbacks you get allows 1 removal of a negative
Chard
I think it's the most pathetic idea I've ever come across. I now put a note on my auctions, that I won't be leaving buyers any feedback. If I can't leave negative feedback, I won't leave any at all. The feedback system is now just a one-sided load of ****. It's like saying buyers can do no wrong - what a ******* joke. There's loads of buyers who are nothing more than ****-taking time wasters and they should be identified as such.
perfect
Iv been stung so many times by sellers, selling things they no longer have in stock, item fake, not as desribed, item does not arrive at all. I dont sell much on ebay so i think its great from a buyers point of veiw.
Gordon R
I think the new system is absolute garbage. Why should a buyer have more rights than a seller? How does that work? Either you have a two way feedback system or you don't have one at all. It will not last like this - it will be changed, when sellers vote with their feet. Mattw
Its an Awful idea, It wont be long and people wil be buying items on ebay, deciding that actually they dont want them and then refusing to pay for them. leaving the seller with nothing they can do about it. Gordon R
Mungler - sharp as a new tack and spot on. My feedback did stand at 96.2%. This was because in my early days, I left negative feedback for non payers and people who tried to cheat me. This resulted in them leaving negative feedback for me. Just checked now and I stand at 100% !!!!!!!!! Ebay now appear to only count feedback during the last year. She apologised and got on to fleabay asking for it to be removed. No way! Miffed! Told 'em they were inflexible, uncaring and moneygrabbers, just like the government! tiercel
I was over 500 sales with 100% positive feedback and now I`m at 96.3% because of one nuetral Applying basic mathematics this cannot be so Mungler, It is not your total feed back that gets affected by a negative or neutral now. It is only your feeback for the last 12 months. As an example if you had 1004 positive and one neutral but only sold 5 items in the last year. Under the old system you would still have 100 %. However under the new system as you had only sold 5 items in the last year and one of those was a neutral you would have 80%. Total feedback 5 = 4 positives + 1 neutral from 5 deals = 80% even though he has a thousands positive deals under his belt. TC
Ratman2
As a seller this nonsence was the last nail in the coffin for me, I'd built up a nice little business selling general items including some shooting accessories. Also Ebay's fees and Paypal fees have crept up and up. Ebay should remember this, no sellers = no buyers. I will not be put in a situation where a dishonest buyer gets of scott free, it's just not right.
