Mutley
Sorry Harnser, after the ****** had it away anything could have happened to it, the rozzers maintained that it was out of the country the same day and on a flight to Dubai, it probably hangs on an oil sheiks boudoir wall this very minute. The limited edition (No.25382527353412618262634472537 of 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) repro that we bought him was had away by ****** the same day that we had it fitted, we even had Barnards original fitter to install it. Personally I believe that it was an inside job, as my brother has been giving me strange looks since the day he caught me in bed with his wife. So basicaly your Brother was taking COVER whilst you were doing a spot of MAN HOLE inspecting with his wife?
bob300w
well thanks any way Bob ,i didnt realize that a barnards triple hooker could cause a family so much grief . I do hope that you can all get over it without to much stress . Harnser . It's tragic Harnser, I have tears welling up in my eyes just thinking about it, My doctor says that if he gives me any more Valium, I wont need Sleazyjet to fly me to Benidorm, I can wing my own way there. You will of course be pleased to know that grandfather's ashes were flushed away via a genuine Thomas Crapper Mk2 porcelain water closet, it was how he would have wanted to go. The funeral service was also very touching, the eulogy ran to 11 pages, that takes some believing!
Harnser
I really must tell every body this little story . Its absulutely true ,when i was about sixteen i worked in a foundry in norwich which was called barnards .It was quite a large concern and had a government contract for making drain covers for use throught the uk . We made hundreds of different types of covers and had a large pattern store and it was part of my job to fudge the patterns out of the store for the moulders to make the drain covers . What i didnt realize at first was being a pattern the numerals and model no were inverted and back to front ,similer to the old fashion way that they used to set type for printing and what didnt help was i was marginally dyslexic , As you can imagine this proved a major problem to me . I would have had a job reading the patterns if they were the right way up let alone inverted and back to front . Didnt last very long got the sack . So yes look on drain covers and you will see the name Barnards foundry . Harnser .

Here I am, wallowing in self pity about a non-existant grandfather, who had a non-existant drain cover stolen and sent to Dubai, and you go and hijack the thread! The nerve of some people! malkiserow
So why the interest in drain covers other than value? isn't this dangerous standing in the road peering down?
Harnser
Looking at some of the names posting on the forum it would appear that this thread has encouraged some of the quieter members to get involved .This is what the thread was intended to do . It did manage to get hi-jacked ,but was all in good fun and good banter . Perhaps it now needs to be put to bed . Harnser .

Townie
I feel shamed into posting at last. Lots of sound advice on here and views that I largely agree with, and I'm surprised to see I have been watching but not contributing for more than four years. I think it's because I shoot very few pigeons (or much of anything at all come to think of it).

There it is, the conclusive proof that 11 pages of us talking complete cack is a good thing Mods, is there any way we can get a "talk to the hand" smiley that can be deployed the next time someone gets a sad-on when people are having a giggle in the banterhaus please? Nice to see you posting Townie ZB

bob300w
Welcome to the asylum Townie, if you have already read this far you are on the slippery slope. Just don't expect any intelligence, or sympathy if you get peeler crabs or woodworm in your ears, and you will go far. P.S Any decent drain covers in your area? I still need a "Bates and Crapworthy Log-stopper Mk 6" for my collection.
