Subsonic Flyer
I went out today to check my zero as there was little wind, fired three shots and didnt feel the need for any more  . I have recently started reloading and these are the results. Sadly pulled the last shot but other than that pleased!!! Steyer Manlicher SBS Prohunter .243 three shots at 150 yards. apbuild
I'd say if you were deer stalking, all three would be killing shots! I suppose you'd say all three where on the money. Well done mate, Rob.
red_stag88
It may be easy to do it on a target. But when it's moving (a bit) and all brown and furry with no bull, it's not as easy

I shoot on average 30 - 40 deer a year and have few problems. Saying that I have never met a deer that has appreciated all my hard work and practice but I like to feel that it results in a high percentage of clean first shot kills. Last trip I turned down two Trophy Fallow Bucks and a nice pricket too. It is all about refraining your self and waiting for EXACTLY the right moment to squeeze. Subsonic Flyer
Stalker10 I would be even happier if they were pennies, they are two pence peices and at 12 x mag you can see them clearly.

bsacadet
I bet you was resting the rifle still as a rock no probs then but if you could shoot standing up rifle not resting then that would be good shooting. bsacadet
Deako
To be honest, its pretty bloody good shooting anyway!
Guest Mr Pieman
I'd like to meet the man or woman that tries to shoot a living animal freehand at 150yrds!! I'd have an uncontrollable urge to 'reeducate' them! The risk of wounding would be very high indeed. Nice shooting though, how about trying 3 shots at the same coin? Subsonic Flyer
Hi Mr P My practice is generaly on paper (download and try Airgun 7.5.2 if you want some great printable targets) and this was the first time I tried the coins for a bit of fun. Best three shot group 0.38" @ 100 yards but usualy around 0.5 - 0.6. This is with a bipod prone. The reloads have improved my groups considerably over the Norma factory ammo I was using. apbuild
I haven't yet started to learn the art of home reloading. When I bought my Sako .308 a few years ago, I also purchased a few boxes of differerent ammo to try. I found that my rifle was able to print excellent groups with only one brand of ammunition. Sako Gamehead, 123grain boat-tails. It also does well with 150grains. I have 300 empty brass .308 cases now, so If I reload my own, I've got that bit sorted. Regards, Rob
red_stag88
Also it's miles cheaper! We reload all center fire ammo that we shoot. I've just applied for a .22 and a .308.
apbuild
Red Stag88, I realise it is cheaper to reload your own ammunition. I have a friend that I shoot with at Bisley who has promised me all the tumblers, dies and presses for .308! Can't wait to get on and do my own loads. Satisfaction is the reward for the loading of your own ammo!
apbuild
Red Stag88, You are not going to reload .22 cartridges are you. I wouldn't have thought they were economical as .22 is cheap to buy and the number of rounds shot is normally quite high. We shoot off about 200 rounds on 25 yard target in a morning at Bisley!
