Found them on aprox 10 woodies ase we were de breasting them They are definately blood suckers as some only had tiny drops of blood in their transparent bodies. They are about 1cm long. All birds that were bought home were placed in hassian sacks as soon as they were picked up to prevent fly blown so it cant be anything from the field. 2shots Posted July 16, 2008 Report Share Posted July 16, 2008 I rang a friend who keeps and breeds racing pigeons he thinks theyre pigeon nest mite larvea that attach and suck blood,and can transfer to you, through your clothing etc and reckons they itch like mad he also describes them similar to tiny white and red maggots,I googled pigeon mite and it sounds the same.Google (Birds123.com) and scroll on the left to pigeon mites, nasty. I`m **** on computers and cant resize them go to microsoft .update and download free powertoy resize tool do a search to find it the wizard puts it straight into my pictures then you just right click a pic scroll to resize and select small.
