Alright chaps

Got a call last week from a woman who keeps chickens and bantams, she was all but crying about the birds she was losing to a pair of foxes who turned up every evening for a feed of her poultry!

I went and had a look at the ground and listened to what she said about times and places were they appeared.I was setting out tonight when the eldest daughter caught me and insisted she was going too!Well i could not say no could i?

We arrived at 9pm and set up about 100 yrds out from were i thought the foxes would appear from,i got behind the rifle and put daughter on sentry duty.About 10 mins later she woke me up!to tell me she could see movement in the hedgerow,i looked through the scope and there he was just having a quick look round before he set out for a chicken supper.

I set the crosshairs on his neck and sent a 40grn v-max to meet him, down instantly with no movement.

We waited another 15 mins to see if the other fox would show and then went out to gather up the one we had shot. After i had sexed it and took the the pictures we were about to set off home when the daughter drew my attention to a dark shape moving about down the hedgerow a bit,i had a look through the scope and there was the other culprit!

A quick 90yrd standing shot and she was down, but the batteries in the camera had gone flat, bloody digital cameras!

Anyway a good night out and a well pleased small holder,it does not get much better :good:
