JonnyR
Hi, Not sure about location but I have some green leopards. I used to use Sonic IIs but after an hour or so they got really uncomfortable. New ones are custom mould and you literally forget you have them in. Make sure you get the valves fitted otherwise you are forever taking them in and out to have a conversation. jon.
V8landy
Hi, I have some green leopards. jon. Can you post a web link? I have tried searching but found nothing?
Cranfield
I also use Emtec Noisebreakers (0174 3709480) and have done for about 15 years. They are excellent and the most unobtrusive ear protection I have tried.
Markio
Just rang Emtec, very helpful guy, gave me the run down on the plugs then gave em the number for my local hearing center that would do the moulds. Apparently you pay the people doing the moulds and they send them to Emtec to have them made up, 3/4 weeks later you get your plugs. They come with a filter fitted to allow normal conversation. £70 plus VAT (£82.25 then!). Can anyone confirm that they do actually block out the shotgun noise effectively or is it a small amount of attenuation?
Cranfield
You can hear your gun go off, but it is suitably deadened. I have shot large amounts of cartridges in a day whilst wearing them, with no ill effects at all. I have tried all different ear protections over the years (apart from the very expensive electronic headsets) and these are the best IMO. activeviii
was that £70 plus vat plus paying your local hearing centre as well. or was that £82.25 all in? Im looking for some thing better than plain old arm defenders.
V8landy
price is all in.
Markio
was that £70 plus vat plus paying your local hearing centre as well. or was that £82.25 all in? Im looking for some thing better than plain old arm defenders. £70 plus vat is the price you pay, no more, and you pay that to the hearing centre. I would assume they pass on the monies to Emtec minus their cut for the mould service.
njc110381
I've just emailed Emtec to find my nearest dealer. I've had moulded plugs before but found them pretty poorly made, so figured a more reputable dealer is the way to go. Not a great deal of help or info for the post, but possibly a pointer to go to a recognised manufacturer rather than a small business type supplier. Some of the smaller guys may be cheaper, but quality isn't the same either.

Oly
This topic has been covered a lot on here, but it's worth noting on this one that you can also damage your hearing through the bones to the rear of you ear - normal ear defenders cover these but in ear proection doesn't.
