CharlieT
Depends on what the ground and weathers like. How about both. Only you can decide.
bullet boy
Get both if you can afford it.Le Chameau are brilliant wellies but they are expensive! There are many good boot products out there too.ATB.
Taff Mason
how about high walking type boots. you'll get good support and they'll be water proof nearly upto the hight of a welly. this is probably not on your check list when buying boots but... in this weeks shooting times some guy managed to shoot himself in the shin with a 12 bore at point blank range with a pair of these on made buy hunter. he some how managed to walk away with only a couple of pieces of shot in his leg because they were so tuff. russuk
A cheap pair of wellies, mine are a pair of £4.45 (exl VAT) Mole Valley specials. They may not have the kudos of an expensive pair but they do the trick. However, I do have a pair or Berghaus gore-tex walking boots that I've had for years and have been all over the world with me, i'd seriously consider something like that in a hig leg version if I could find them. luckytrigger
Tay sport muck boots. Had mine for two years now done plenty of lamping, beating and walking the dog and they are still going strong. Also keep your feet nice and toasty when sat in a hide
Harnser
If you dont want to be up to you crotch in water ,then a pair of high lace up leather gortex danner boots worn with with a pair of water proof gaitors . Expensive ? yes . The best ? yes . You will never wear wellies again . Harnser .
Baldrick
Le Chameau wellies and Meindl Glockner hunting boots for me. If I had to choose, I would stick with the wellies. They're warm, they don't squeak, there are no laces to snap and they work fine in conjunction with thornproof Barbour leggings when beating. Imperfection
Regatta make exceptionally comfortable walking boots which are also waterproof so would be a good compromise. Clickety click! I've had mine three years now and they're extremely comfortable. There possibly not the cheapest brand of walking boots, but in my opinion are the best.
