They didn't offend me personally but obviously something he has posted has caused some members to complain or for the moderators to feel that it is not suitable for this forum. The moderators do a fairly good job of removing anything unsuitable (which seems to be appearing more and more lately) and i think most of the members know the rules and stick to them I neither know nor care how or why Vimm was banned, but im sure that it wasn't done lightly and that his behaviour on here warranted a ban... Have a think about it Dave i am not squeemish atall :o but many people on here maybe and the picture looked like something out of somewhat of a horror film.. he just shot it in the back on purpose as it was running and the bullet just ripped its back open, not very nice atall if anyone remembers the picture. I enjoyed looking at the vast majority of Vimm's pictures and some of his posts, however as some have alluded to already his brazen attitude towards other members and his preference of sailing close to the law if not beyond, is unacceptable on a public forum which is designed to promote shooting sports, responsible is one criteria which I, as a sportsman would prefer to be associated with. The site used to have a friendly feel and welcoming to it, but this has gone. These days it seems that newer and "lesser" members, this does not represent my view but, some seem to feel that those, such as airiflers are somehow inferior and should be laughed at. I'm not saying this is all down to vimm it's not, I'm saying that this is the problem and if people don't wise up then banning may well be the final answer. I use it reluctantly (one ban in the past 12 months) and am even willing to review vimm's case in the future, provided he agrees from now on like the other members to follow the groundrules when he is posting here on pigeonwatch, which I believe are here to benefit the community and shooting as a whole. Pity he wasn't just a little bit more tactful. There are things that occur in this, as in all walks of life, that are less than idealbut what it the point of airing your dirty washing in public? :o Why do I need to spend my time gaining all the appropriate permissions, licences and behaving properly for it all to be destroyed in the eyes of the public by people like Vimm?
