Hubertus
Just wanted to show you some pictures of building some high seats. I guess there are not so popular in your country but over here they are very often used because we have roe every where in Germany and wild boar nearby too. Maybe it is interesting... Best wishes, Hubertus

millo2
Much more sophisticated than mine mate, ours a basically a ladder with a seat on top
Hubertus
The one on the left hand side is specially used for driven days. You can stand normall on it. But its more safe because you shoot from a higher position (bullet of a rifle goes a long way!).

Hubertus
@Millomite: ours are also basic compared with the ones of a friend of mine. Have a look on the picture. But i don't like them. In my opinion they are too big. You can sleep on them, so you dont have to disturb the morning when you want so sit in the morning. There is like a bed on them. Vermin Dropper
Thats not a high seat, it's a tree house, yours are very impressive, let alone that 1,
Cranfield
That is a very large tree stand. I have used my friends tree stands in the US for watching deer and turkeys. They are no more than a metal chair clamped to a tree trunk, with a metal ladder leading to them. When my friends are hunting , they use a rope ladder and pull it up after them, so as not to leave any scent near the base of the tree. These are serious hunters, they spray themselves with all sorts of filthy smelling stuff, to mask the human scent.
Hubertus
These are serious hunters, they spray themselves with all sorts of filthy smelling stuff, to mask the human scent. In my experience all that doesn't work. If the wind is wrong the animals will smell you. It then makes no difference if you use any spray or not. Conclusion -> Wind is most important while stalking. If it is wrong you better go home otherwise you disturb only with no sense in it and the game gets more shy. Best wishes, Hubertus
Devilishdave
I used to see those stands all over the place when I went running when i lived out in germany. What part of germany are you in Hubertus
Jonnyni
I saw those stands in nearly every field or so when travelling to and from Munich Airport (Bavaria) when I lived there to. I also saw the bottom of many a bottle of Bavarian beer
Subsonic Flyer
Some of those are impressive. We have about 50 seats in total, most are of the type below but we have a few that are what I call sheds on legs. When the weather gets rough you can guess which ones I head for!! henry d
I know not everyone or every situation is the same but my idea of stalking is getting close enough to poke it with a stick and then poping it with 50 gr of lead at V.high speed.Sitting up a tree aint my game, nice high seats tho H.Keep up the good work! :o
Devilishdave
I was up at Falingbostel so not so far away. Nice part of the world up there. I used to run in to a lot of pigs when i was out running with the dog. we used to turn and go back the other way. Some of those bores are monsters. I have heard reliable stories of Sows with young attacing armored vehicles!! Dave
