Hi all,

I'm quite excited because im going shooting tomorrow with proTOM1 in Lincoln.

To make the most of the time and enjoy it as much as possible I want to make sure I don't forget anything.

I'm planning on wearing.

Water proof walking boots, thick socks, Jeans, couple of tshirts, jumper, fleece, waterproof coat with hood, hat, gloves.

Can you think of anything else that I should take guys?

Cheers,

Jon

Rather than wearing all those layers, you can get yourself some thermals (long johns), top and bottom. Thermals, trousers, ski-ing socks (for me), jumper and jacket...very warm even on the coldest days. I also have a balaclave for those really cold days under my face mask.

Don't forget a flask of hot tea/coffee, and some sarnies.....

And by the way, you won't sleep tonight because of the excitement...I still don't and I've been doing it for a year.

Take a rucksack to put all those clothes in, if you are walking around you will be warm anyway with much less on

Get down to your local army surplas shop and get a norgie if you can. Jeans absorb water and sweat too much and are slow to dry out .... try to use polycotton trousers if you have them .....

I have a serious question.

Thermals - I bought a top and bottoms. Do you wear anything undet them :-/ ?

I'm about to put the lot through the wash before I even get this stuff on. :hmm:

It's all rather funky though. Bought thermals, gloves, trousers, jacket, waterproof jacket (all cammo) and thick socks.

The only thing I didn't buy was a balaclava (spelling). Nevermind :hmm:

Speaking from experience here...dont wear anything under thermals cos you'll sweat your rocks off.I used to be a high rise roofer and a good set of thermals under normal clothing is more than adequate.Keeping the wind out is the biggest hurdle.

You'll need a good pair of walking boots too cos the hills round there are quite steep.Im joking-its dead flat! :hmm: Hope you have a fantastic day. :hmm:

Hi guys, im back!

Had an absoloutly fantastic time today with Tom, he was a really great guy to go with, set up all the decoys and talked me through the method behind it. We spoke about safety quite a bit, he answered all the questions I could throw at him and I shot my 1st pigeon!!! (after missing about 7 or so, maybe more!)

I had an epic time and really want to do it again, hopefully I will.

Cheers guys

Cheers Tom.

Jon
