Bazooka Joe
I'm sure there are three classed as pests; Great Blackbacked, Lesser Blackbacked, Herring Gull. Unless the law has changed,
WGD
You can shoot Lesser Black Backed, Greater Black Backed and Herring Gulls in terms of the General Licence. WGD

Axe
how can you tell wot thay are have any1 any pics of any? Unless you are well educated in how to tell one gull from another, I would advise against any notion of shooting them.

WGD
If you do have to do any pest control involving gulls study a bird book first (who's first to comment on that?) As Axe says, unless you know what you are looking at they can be difficult to tell apart. The black backs are pretty easy to identify, the clues in the name as to appearance and shooting a Greater Black Backed would be like shooting a turkey. As already said. They are difficult to tell apart and can very easily be mistaken

JohnGalway
in ireland you can shoot common gull once its over land I'm open to correction DF, but I believe you need to prove the bird is doing damage to either crops, stock or other interests before you can shoot. Some dry reading for ya. http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1976/en/act..._14.html#gen_14
