Lloyd90
What do you guys think of this ? I sold my s/s the other day, it was only a real cheapy! There is a near new Bettinsoli Diamondline in my local gunshop. Its nice n light (I prefer this, didnt like a few heavy guns when I tried them before) and It has excellent LOP for me, comes up very well to my eye. Overall looks a very good fit. Had only about 150 shells through it. Marked up at 595 quid but he told me I can have it for 550. What do you reckon ?? Ta
sbald
I have this gun and can,t fault it, many will say its not as good as a Berretta but then I bought one because it was cheaper and I didnt want an expensive gun to get damaged. I would work on the price as they can be bought new for £695 (with 100 carts and gunslip when I bought mine)
sirusman
I purchased the same gun for £575 2 months ago and i am very pleased withit, i prefer it to my Browning Citori Edited December 12, 2008 by sirusman
kennym
They do get good reports, and are some of the best new guns in the price range, but you can get them new with all the guarantees that go with that for £595, so it doesn't sound like a great deal...... lets face it at times like this deals are there to be had ,anyway good luck
Lloyd90
Hmm how would you go about knocking them down then ? Any tips for getting anything thrown in aswell  I dont want to be rude or anything, its a brilliant shop I know its not up there with a Beretta, ofcourse its not for 500-800 quid less!! Although it seemed pretty nice to me. Just hope I can afford it now lol :( Its priced a bit over what I was looking to spend
kennym
I'm a car dealer I get customers making me stupid offers every day, and depending on how its done I can consider the customer to be very rude or just a normal guy wanting a bargain, I can only say be respectfully but tell the shop keeper you want to start up a long running relationship (not sexually) with him because hes your local gun shop and you want to support him, but mention you have seen equivalent guns advertised elsewhere much cheaper, If he thinks its better to take small profits off you for as long as you shoot & gives you a disscount,... well thats a good outcome for you both,... but if he's hard on you, you have to consider is he the type of person you want to deal with anyway? you say he's a nice guy and he might be........but remember this,... its something my old dad always told me look hear son,.... "Con-men always come across as good honest blokes, because if you could tell they were con-men then they wouldn't be very good fu$&ing con-men would they? prophetic words that have stayed with me.................. good luck.... but buy the gun through good choice rather than good luck! harv
Have you owned either , bet you haven't I have a bettinsoli sideplate and have owned a lanber and wouldnt swap it for 2 lanbers. I used to use a beretta 682 gold for clays and it was in no justifiable way a 1000 quid better than the bettinsoli.
jinxy72
betty's gettin great reviews m8 ... but i would spend the little extra ( new price £775 oxford gun company ) and buy the supersport model ..... one review rated it as good as a £2000 gun !!! the supersport was designed for the uk clay scene . as for lanbers ... i started off with a lanber ( which i sold on here recently ) and loved it . :(

Had one for 25 years and shot in excess of 20.000 shell's through her never been serviced and still going strong . Got two Beretta's and still choose the Lincoln :( and if you get a misfire with the first barrel you still get to shoot the second
Jim145
I like the Bettinsoli Diamondline, my Bro-in law shoots with one and obviously I've test driven it! One of my pals was in the market for a new gun a few weeks ago, and thats what I reccomended. However he came out of the shop with a Lanber Sporting Deluxe, just as nice to shoot, but the woodwork on this example is far better than the Bettinsoli's I've seen. Another friend has the Lincoln, I know they get good reviews, but I'm not as keen on this one. Your probably best to handle them all and see what suits you best, they are all fine budget guns. As for the price I would look around and ask the shop to do a price match, I did this with an air rifle once. They couldn't match the price, but threw a bundle of free stuff in with the gun. A very good deal :( Edited December 12, 2008 by Jim145

tweedledee
Have you owned either , bet you haven't :( sorry to say magman i had a lanber for a few months. as for the lincoln i have to admit never owning one but i had a mate who had one and it kept hanging fire on the second barrel. not trying to get into an argument here in any way.i just can`t praise the bettys highly enough.sorry if i came across critical of your thread did nt mean to Edited December 12, 2008 by tweedledee
Jim145
Thats interesting, my mates Lincoln fails to fire its second barrel every 100 shots or so. Quite irritating.

I agreed to it & he sent it to my local RFD before i had even paid for it. Excellent service, excellent gun. Cheers, Terry.
auto culto
just bought a brand spanker (bettinsoli diamond) myself a couple of days ago and knocked it down from £775 to £650 . So it just goes to show if you try you will get it a fair bit cheaper . The only think that almost put me off though was the name, sounds like it should be on the supermarket shelves with the flora and other soft spreads
