Chard
I shot like a barstool today - 100 skeet, ended up with 23,25,24,23 to finish on a less than satisfactory 95. hmph Chard, do you know whether this police shindig on Friday is felt wad only or can I use plastics? I'm using plastic In fact I'm using Hull Sovereign Extreme Range FITAAAAASC Bitchmutha Woppa Stopper Plaaaaarstic wads among other things - all plastic though. paulos
Awesome stuff, in that case I can use my green eley ones that have loads of brass on them If I have learnt one thing from my time shooting, it is that the more brass your cartridge has, the higher you will score

I've only recently discovered this fact as well. You score even more if the word "Pro" "First" or "Top Shot" appear in the name of the cartridge

The exception to this rule is of course Eley Firsts, which are a pile of dump Unfortunately I have not been able to procure any of my favourite Hull "Pro" Ones, however my Eley "VIPs" seem to suit me very well. Catamong
Why do you say that?Ive used thousands of em, never had a problem with them? Yep, luverly little shell, I used an odd 100 somebody had given me at the Horne a couple of weeks back, did an 89, can honestly say those shells didn't let me down , they simply crunched up the birds I was on, the other eleven that carried on unbroken were deffo not the fault of the shell..!! :o I did Wylye Valley today, 100 proper reg targets, (of course), not a pump wielding, cartridge belted or cammo garbed Essex boy in sight, shot OK, did an 88, a tad below what I should have shot, but hey ho, onwards & upwards as they say, went on to the Shooting Club at Upavon for another 100 Reg, bit of a toughie, could only manage an MC style 78 , even thought about doing a Mung and telling them I'd "made a mistake" and could I be placed in "C" class..., but thought better of it.............even I couldn't stoop that low..!! Mungler
Cat your absence was noted at Copfurn today. Oh how we all laughed at how your scores are falling and how you didn't put your money where your mouth is Any day now eh?
paulos
Why do you say that?Ive used thousands of em, never had a problem with them? Nothing performance wise I suppose, I used a load of them a while back and encountered quite a few deformed ones as well as getting a number of duds. They also had a nasty "crack" rather than "bang" about them which I didn't like (I have a gammy hand which it susceptible to recoil) B) Edited April 26, 2009 by paulos
Bagsy
Another superb day was had with the lads at Copfurn. Our guest of honour couldn't make it today but the void was quickly filled by a surprise appearance by 3AMP and Milan. Essex folk amongst us will be pleased to know the **** Shot trophy has gone back up the A12 with Milan to Suffolk. A formal handing over ceremony took place and El Tel, as you can see, was only too please to see the back of it............for now

Bottle it? Oh that's super rich. The only reason I am travelling a hundred miles plus to shoot your local is: 1. it's an annual gig with Tosspot and a good day out 2. it's the only time in the year that I shoot Southdown In all seriousness I would expect a monster score from you on this one Cat given that it is your Mecca and you have been shooting it since before I was born. I would expect you to beat me by a clay a stand. Oh hang on, you didn't manage to do that last year did you lets hope you can do better this year? As for your refusal to shoot my local haybale for a £200 wager - if that's not bottling it what is ? Chard
Is it a cpsa shoot? this southdown? If it is, there'll be no safety pins handed out to pin your number onto your skeet vest
Catamong
Is it a cpsa shoot? this southdown? No, it's not Registered, so non CPSA members can shoot it. They are not using the "normal" valley layout, so regulars like myself have no advantage. It will be a good shoot, no "score it yourself" nonsense, with not a strawbale in sight. Cat. Evil Elvis
t will be a good shoot, no "score it yourself" nonsense, Cat, i have deliberately not got involved in all the petty squabbling but tbh, the "self scoring" as you so sarcastically call has no bearing on the end results in our group...WHY? because we pay attention when our friends are shooting and marking is done fairly, if a chip comes off and its witnessed its scored, it no-one but the shooter saw it it is not. The Essex masters scoring left a lot to be desired, i queried several of the calls and was right on all but one which was a misunderstanding on the driven pair. I queried the rabbits stand as i had killed the rabbit, got a no bird on the second clay and the scorer said first bird missed, pair again!! This happenned at least 3 times and I watched every clay shot in my group and corrected scorers several times..i watched Chard get a rub on one stand and kept stum. So in my opinion, having your friends score you is more accurate..and they are less forgiving, which is fine by me!!!!!!
