Baldrick
Bionicle now owns my old .243 fox buster, which I have replaced with a Sako 591 in .22-250. This old-school rifle is complemented by an ASE CQB mod and an S&B 2.5-10x56 scope. I'm using 55gr V-Max as fast as they can be pushed. I much prefer my hand-held Lightforce 170s over the scope-mounted one, for solo foxing work.

Rifles without mods and bipods look so much better :o I use them both though because they are so practical.

tikkamark
I much prefer my hand-held Lightforce 170s over the scope-mounted one, for solo foxing work. How do you manage to hold the hand-held lamp and keep it in the right spot while aiming the rifle?? I tried it once and found it VERY awkward! Billy.
Just bought it today No mod yet (I put the one off my other rifle, but it's not big enough to allow a .270 to pass through it :( ), I'm desperately seeking a second hand T8! Baldrick
How do you manage to hold the hand-held lamp and keep it in the right spot while aiming the rifle?? I tried it once and found it VERY awkward! Simple: I'm left-handed, shooting from the driver's seat in a Defender/Discovery. The rifle rests on the padded wing-mirror or door-bag. The lamp is held in my right hand. With practice, it's become natural, but positioning the vehicle correctly is the crucial part. Then it's a case of beam on, lamp down, BANG. Now the mornings are getting lighter, I'll be using the high seats more regularly.
