That's a disgrace. To be honest, PETA are extremists alright, but I have more respect for animal rights groups who target truly barbaric practises like these/battery chickens etc... than country sports. In Britain I think we have a pretty good sense of morality.

FM i've just looked on www.petatv.com and i have no words.

I'm not a bad person but if i was there, by someone, doing what i've just seen on that site i would have no hesitation in doing something REALLY bad to them.

God help them and me if i was armed.

Don't recommend going onto that site guys. NOT NICE

I'll find some nice videos to post next time :/

I am actually afraid to look at it. As you all are, I am a hunter but never am I cruel to animals. When I shoot I shoot to kill the animal instantly..or as instant as possible. I've passed on many shots and I am sure you all have to.

I am already feeling anxious just thinking about what the video may contain. On a one of the big News Shows here in the US they did an expose` on cattle (cows :/ ) that were being exported to third world countries as a food source. The animals were shipped by boat and when they arrived most had at least one broken limb...many had two or more. I remember seeing one that was forced to walk down a ramp to get off the boat on the exposed upper bones of it's front legs with the lower parts of it's legs splayed outwards. It was awful...they may be food but deserve to be treated better than that. That show was over 20 years ago and I still remember it. I don't know how one can become immune to it..

Sorry for the rant.... :*)

Well what do you say to that ? :<

What were those guys doing to the sheep exactly? and why ? :<

That was no normal slaughter house i think it was a halal slaughter house for our muslim friends!!! If i am right i think it is done this way because allah said so and to cleanse the animal and it must not be stunned before its slaughter. :<

Dont forget this happens in this country also!!!! :<

Started to watch the chicken and cattle clip from peta but had to turn it off , ever since watching a documentary about Cat's and Dog's being killed and sold as food and the way they were killed it has put me off watching stuff like this . I can still see the scenes in my head a few years later . :<

Curiousity (and stupidity) got the better of me and I looked. WIsh I hadn't. It almost looks like they are castrating the sheep. I don't know how someone can become so immune to the cruelty of it, like the people commiting the act.

I believe that sussex lad is correct about the slaughter house operation. Bleeding an animal to death is actually humane, the initial cut hurts but they pass out and then die. Throwing them around the way they do definitely is not.

I have seen a video and pictures of a sheep being attacked by a coyote once. The yote was ripping apart the sheeps head and face while the sheep just stood there, didn't try to run or anything.

Thanks fer the happy lamb picture :/

That video should be compulsory viewing for anyone who believes that foxhunting is cruel, or that the abbatoir industry is humane. I've got a pretty strong stomach, but watching a sheep have it's legs broken and amputated whilst it is still demonstrably alive, with its throat slit, really beggars belief. Why don't the League Against Cruel Sports stop harassing fans of fieldsports, and turn their attention onto commerical brutality on a mass scale in abbatoirs?

I didn’t look, as I know how bad it will be,

My first job was in a slaughterhouse, and I still think of the poor critters getting killed.

They were meant to tong the sheep (electrical charge to stun them) but they choose to just stick a hook through the tendon at the back of the leg and hike them up to cut their throat, it was faster this way they said.

I went outside once to find a pig that had been beaten with drain rods while some were on their break, it couldn’t move so I decided to put it out of its misery.

I found an old large cast iron drainpipe, and at 17 I thought if I hit it round the head the poor thing would be killed, unfortunately it just smashed over its head and it started squealing. I was gutted, soon after I left, I couldn’t take it anymore.

Your right, its these places that need the attention from animal rights people, and to think, some of them are very happy to tuck into roast beef or pork on Sundays.

The only animal that I would say is killed humanly is the cow, a 22 rimfire round is used to hit a bolt into the head, the go down in a flash unless they miss and then all hell breaks loose.

That reminds me of the FOOT AND MOUTH outbreak, i can remember seeing footage taken by someone out of their bedroom window of some idiot in a white suit from the ministry walking around a field with a rifle (which turned out to be 22.rf!!!) shooting the sheep!! .

Which just were not going down he was the having to shoot then in back of the head to finish them .

It just begares belief that this could still happen in country of so called animal lovers!!! :<
