shot shot
I think it was fairly obvious the bunnies were "down" and not just posing for the camera great work, alot of effort went into that

Admiral Von Tirpitz
Great Pics mate and also add ons. I have same gun and nearly a year on it amazes me how you just aim straight at sometime at that range, pull trigger and over it goes. A very powerful and impressive gun! Birdboy
Good to see you keeping busy Funky. We went out last night for a couple of hours with the HMR's and shot 4 or 5 rabbits each, with the 3 longest of the night at 150, 155 and 163 yards - but literally shooting right at them. Great to see them bowled over even before you hear the shot ! Cheers Gaz
funky
Yes Birdboy i found that quite intresting about seeing the prey keel over then hearing the crack of the round it is an awsome round i am getting to grips with the ballistics of it and this is giving me more cofidence to take longer shots P.S Have you noyiced the drop in the price of 17HMR ammo got some for £9.80 per 50 Horandy as to previous purchase of £12.50 ...... Also the new cheaper ones had blue tips as to the old red ones....Aparently some organisation had the monopoly on them went bust and now its a free maket place :o :o Edited April 7, 2009 by funky
Birdboy
Yes Birdboy i found that quite intresting about seeing the prey keel over then hearing the crack of the round it is an awsome round i am getting to grips with the ballistics of it and this is giving me more cofidence to take longer shots P.S Have you noyiced the drop in the price of 17HMR ammo got some for £9.80 per 50 Horandy as to previous purchase of £12.50 ...... Also the new cheaper ones had blue tips as to the old red ones....Aparently some organisation had the monopoly on them went bust and now its a free maket place :o :o Hi Funky, Hadnt noticed the price. My rfd says the rounds are likely to keep going up. Ive just bought 500 Remington 20 grain, instead of the ballistic tip 17g ive tried. The 20g Remmy's came in at £20 per 100 instead of £32 for the 17's. Worth a try. Im expecting a slight drop in the longer range shots, but perhaps ideal for windier conditions. I still have a 22lr and learned a lot about drop off so be interesting to try, and especially at £10 for 50.
funky
I have not tried any othe manufacturer than Horandy and only have used the 17gr .17hmr as i am new to rifle shooting in terms of a ballistic round... I also have a Ruger 10/22 Volquatsen custom but have only use that for lamping as it is quiet and light. I suppose the next phase in my evolutuion would be to try different rounds i will have to read up on it and see ...... Raja Clavata
Based on this and other reports I went for the very same scope and it arrived today from Opticswarehouse. It looks mighty fine sat on my Sako Quad HMR Makes the Hawke sat on the .22lr next to it in the cabinet look a bit sad in comparison...
