vole
I usually have a bash at the pike etc but do have fly gear /coarse gear too so can adapt. Anyone fished round there recently? Not much on the web. Thanks

Cranfield
just back from a piking trip myself, hope you have a better one than us, disaster to say the least we were in cavan not far from the shannon and the pike fishing is a bit slow to say the least! No doubt there were lots of rumours about Eastern Europeans eating them and Germans shipping them home in freezer vans. Thats all we heard when we had an unsuccessful pike trip about 5 years ago. Fortunately, it was only one day and the general coarse fishing was still excellent. Have a good trip vole21.
dazza
I used to fish for pike over the border in Carrickmacross. Then the Germans came over and caught them all and ate them.

GW80
there is some good fishing to be had on both the lower and upper bann, enagh and creeve in tyrone and muckno all hold good fish. I had my first 20 from Creeve a few years back and also seen a 30lb come out of it, haven't fished it for a while, is it fishing well? Fished Muckno quite a bit around the same time, i'm only really getting back into the pike fishing this last year again, but was down quite a bit at Brantry for the Trout. vole
I blanked but admit I did not put in the time required due to my new puppy getting bored. In the warmer months I have had lots of success with mini lures and a braid loaded reel on my 6ft spinning outfit.Last few years the pegs at O'Briensbridge have been taken up by East Europeans using industrial methods of piking.Usually with a machete stuck in the bank next to them. Better luck in Florida this August!!
