sambu13
this may have been covered before but would these be any good for hide posts?i think you could get them cheeper somwhere else but they have lots of bits to hang netting on, my girlfriend has some green ones but wont let me near them! http://www.derbyhouse.co.uk/prodshow.asp?i...0&scats=190 Cheers
Cranfield
Apart from being ridiculously expensive (unless the price quoted is for 10 of them), there are better options out there. Some people use the Wilkinson garden or clothes line poles, others make their own from hazel sticks (forked at the top), I prefer to buy proper adjustable hide poles as they do last and do the job better IMO. Markio
Yeah it's what i use (because of horses we have quite a few kicking about too). Try and get green or black if you can. I have white ones that i've tried to paint. It looks great to start with but i didn't t get paint that would 'bind' to the plastic so have a big problem with chipping and after a while you end up with more white than paint. Also they obviously aren't telescopic so can be a ****** to carry if you don't tie then togehter or bag them up properly. Still they do they job. Other option is Wilkinsons clothes line poles. But you'll need to fix a kick plate to them and possibly need a way of securing the netting half way down (bulldog clips?).
sambu13
thats for 10! still quite expensive i know! but i might give them a try
Markio
thats for 10! still quite expensive i know! but i might give them a try For £30 for ten i wouldn't bother. They take a bit of modding to get right too. If you've got £30 burning a hole in your pocket then why not pay an extra tenner and get the telescopic proper jobbies? Llanshooter
£30 will get you 10 poles from Wilkos (more actulally as they're down to £2.50 each this week), dark green, easily adjustable and with a lump hammer and bench grinder you can put nice points on them
Greenhunter
£30 will get you 10 poles from Wilkos (more actulally as they're down to £2.50 each this week), dark green, easily adjustable and with a lump hammer and bench grinder you can put nice points on them I put sharpened wooden pegs in mine and then 3" bolts through the metal and the peg, secored with a lock nut, to act as kick-plates. Works for me! Heavy though GH Edited April 22, 2009 by Greenhunter

Hewey
If I were you I'd just save up and get a decent set of proper adjustable Hide Poles. I've had mine years now, fairly light to carry, really strong, already painted, hooks for the net and with decent kick plates that will go into virtually anything. Save's a lot of messing around if you ask me. Hewey
