Ballymac
Blowing a gale here at the mo, but gives some sunny intervals for next day or two and I have spotted a couple of farmers getting the first cut in, so might be a bit of crow bashing on the cards. Any one else getting any shooting? Have noticed a good number of pigeons in the general area so hope to have good shooting later on this year. Also notice a good supply of rabbits, no mixi yet, have about a dozen in my garden at the moment, kids like them but starting to become a real pest, so time ofr the air rifle. smig4373
Father used to say..."If ya see a flock of crows, there rooks...and if you see a rook on its own,its a crow..."....
Ozzy Fudd
heading up to my uncles field next week to wipe out (and i mean wipe out) the rabbit population for him, and one of my mates rang earlier and said his ones are getting ready for silage soon too, not sure what the plan is, so far he's opting to hide in a silage trailer sniping the crows with rifles, im opting for riding around on the tractors as they do the cut, blasting anything that comes close, so we'll see what happens
markb
You lucky **** we aren't even thinking silage yet, alot of people haven't even put the fertilizer on yet, so thats at least another 6 to 8 weeks away if it goes on now. it's been so windy today nothings moving or if it try's it's flying backwards

Ballymac
Just had a look at the 10 day forecast for my area, fri sat and sun are wet and windy but all next week is to be dry and sunny, so farmers will get their business done, rabbits will be out crows (rooks etc) will be out. Ozzy Fudd
woo hoo! get some last minute zeroing done tomorrow (just to be sure) then rabbit bashing early next week and if they start cutting the silage ill be out at it too some of the nights - guess who wont be able to work late any nights next week... tho just remembered its illegal to shoot wild birds from a motorised vehicle, so looks like my plan of riding shotgun on the tractors is out the window Edited May 8, 2009 by babbyc1000

MerseaDavid
We have been cutting our silage and the crows have been getting on to it quite well and one of the farms hands had a go and shot 51 the first day and 34 the second day. A few pigeons have been dropping on to the fields but not many
