Lloyd90
I never agreed with it myself!!!!!! You'd rather see a dog suffer with a cut/scarred tail for month ? Alot of the time leading to infection and amputation of the tail ? Id MUCH rather see a puppy wimper for about n hour after tail docking than suffer for days/weeks with a cut / infected tail! Much more humane! Dont see how anyone could not agree with tail docking given what happens.

WGD
Took the words out of my mouth nipper, I've seen pups docked that didn't even wake up - if they do the chances are they're docked a bit short and the nerve has been nipped, something which doesn't happen if 2/3 - 3/4 of the tail is left and it is done at the right age (under 3 days). Think yourselves lucky in England and Wales... it might be getting harder to find a willing vet but at least it is still legal!
3xspringer
Had my pups docked and dew clawed yesterday 2day,s old all O.K this morning 4X B/W - 3 x L/W 5 dogs - 2 bitches will be microchipped in 6 week,s and vaccinated, So if any one is after a springer pup, they will be up for sale in the near future working homes only and GOOD HOMES ONLY, I have both parent,s so can be viewed all together, if interested send P.M. as for docking it is a must or you will end up with big vet bill,s and a very sore dog, they work there heart out for you so they deserve better all my dogs are family and I would not put my children in any danger. al4x
all you can do is keep ringing round vets to find one who will do one. Rumour was that the RSPCA were gagging to try and pin a prosecution on one for causing unnecessary suffering to try and stop docking which is why you have trouble finding one who will do it. Plus a lot of the younger female vets disagree with it, personally all out terriers used to be done at home at a few hours old and there were no problems and as said often they didn't even wake up. The general thing is the younger the better before the bone hardens up and the nerves develop. I've got one lined up for my GWP when she has pups now that you have to use a vet, but sadly he's no where near you
