Martin,

No worries.

Skipper phoned yesterday to say that he took a party out Sunday wrecking and they had 126 cod, none under 4lb, most around the 6lb mark and the biggest 15

Chaps we need to decide what kind of day we want? Appreciate input via PM. Looks like there'll be 8 of us. £50 each for a standard day out or £60 each if we want to go "over the hills and far away" wrecking / toping...

:good: We still on and have we confirmed what were fishing for?

Are we going wrecking? If so I am going to have to get some gear. I have loads of feathers and hokkais but not any pirks.

Is there a cafe for breakfast? It would be good to get something before we go out.

Looks like the tide is going to be too big for a cod wrecking trip. Sounds like the gear you have will be ideal MC.

Will confirm departure time later in the week. We normally skip brekkie at a cafe and have sausages (or similar) with rolls on board on the way out. OK?

Also need to decide what we fancy for lunch, stuff can go in the oven. We normally eat well, very well.

Ah, out with the Suffolk boys then - what they will want to do is probably just about legal out in international waters.

I am really glad I gave this a swerve now.

Those in constant denial are quite often the most active participants.......Why don't you give it a go sometime?

Fly fishing is genuinely magic. I cannot however develop this hobby or else I will be divorced.

That sea fishing for ***** off Southend in the freezing cold with a bunch of navy lady boys from Suffolk, not for me.

Baz,

I think he really really wants to come along. There's not even anyone from Suffolk in our party ...

I now know of at least two very productive salmon pools on the middle Severn - perhaps our next fishing expedition should be up there. Worming season started 16th June.

Maybe combine that with a couple days barbelling on the Severn, Teme and perhaps even the Wye.

Mung,

Does the magical nature of fluff flinging reflect the number of fish you caught?

So, the weather forecast now shows it being really crud! I hate those poxy easterly winds.

We can make a decision on Friday, either swerving it altogether, doing a bit of bassing with worms on the more sheltered sands (perhaps just the morning) or just doing what we were gonna do anyway

It shouldn't be a problem during the flood but on the ebb it'd be wind over tide and that could be a tad bumpy.

I'd like us to at least get out and do something!

With all due respect I am not driving all the way round to Burnham to catch a few schoolie bass on worms and if I am truly honest I don't fancy an easterly swell either.

I am fine for leaving it until the last minute and see what the forecast is.
