MerseaDavid
We are getting a few down on the farm but not as many as last year. They have not been breeding as much as the past couple of years.

Imperfection
I shot half dozen young woodies last week, but week before all that was comming in to my decoy pattern was juvenile crows.

shoughton
Saw a few this morning on my way to work. They were in flight with adult birds heading for a grass field that was cut a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately not one of my permissions. Certainly starting to see a lot more birds around in general - they have been quite sparse for the last few weeks.
rigwallet
have noticed loads that we shot mind you we are overun were i live lots of rape fields have been hammered that much that the farmers have turned the remains of the crop into the field but they still wont let us on their land cant understand but one farmer says we done him real good his biggest field was getting cleared until we cleared the pigeons now the field is a mass of flowers three foot high
proTOM1
Lots of them about now, mate of mine went out today shot 94 birds and 61 were young which is a great sign !
Si-Bore
I have found that they are really attracted to the magnet and often nearly get tangled up in it! They also decoy easily. Poor nieve little fellas.......but they are still good flyers and offer the same level of sport. They taste better too. Si

M ROBSON
We shot our first squab in early March this year. But certainly not as early and numerous as the start of last year. A lot of birds are onthe nest now. Mark.

Highlander
We've been shooting numbers of young birds since February/March and the ones shot this last few weeks must have been born about then and onwards so I guess they truely are breeding all year round. Mind you I'd like someone (not hearsay from my uncles, pals, mates, cousin please) to clarify for me this; if, as is commonly held, a pigeon pair can have 3 broods a year, do they? I have 2 pairs that breed in the garden every year (yes unmolested) but only ever once a year so do they nest again elsewhere or only raise the one brood? Anyone? Also is it the same pair each year or the young from a year past? Has anyone done any true research since Merton?

Has anyone done any true research since Merton? i have not done any research but i have a pair in my back garden and have had a pair coming and nesting for over 5 years last year the pair had 3 lots and this year there on the second lot now as for it being the same pair or the young i dont no but they use the same nest every time they come !
