jojusa
I went to the gunshop today to pick up my Hatsan escort after it's bit of barrel trouble and seen this nice looking O/U Baikal so decided to offload the semi-auto and buy the Baikal. I think it will be ideal for the rough shooting I do as I won't be too worried about a few scratches it might pick up and it should last for years. Anyone know if you can get an english manual for these as mine is printed in Russian (not sure if they all are ). Dead-Eyed Duck
Ooooooh, I had one of those for my first O/U. The only problem I had was that the chokes on mine were very full and 3/4, which was frustrating for me at the time as I was a **** shot (still am, according to some) I got the chokes altered to 1/4 and half, and it lasted me well for many years. Dead-Eyed Duck
who do you see about getting the chokes done ? gun smith or what ? cheers First of all don't get paranoid about it - many people use these guns and have no idea as to what chokes they are - some were made 1/4 and half choke. If you want to take it to any gunshop and they will check it and tell you what chokes it has - this will cost nothing. I would be tempted to get on with it, and if you are happy with the results don't do anything - these are really good guns for the money Don
poorpeet
If you look on the site I posted and down load the manual it tells you how to read the stamped info on the barrel. Mine came out at 1/2 and full but still hits clays ok.
ryantidgwell
mine is half and full i seem to hit clays with it just could be easier

Don Don, this one is a MC so the options are endless (if I knew what I was doing ).
Dead-Eyed Duck
Don, this one is a MC so the options are endless (if I knew what I was doing ). Best of of both worlds then - enjoy You may eventually upgrade to a better pedigree make (as I have), but the end results probably won't be too different - and that's another can of worms. jackinbox99
I had a baikel o/u as my first gun and had loads of use out of it. I was just as good with it at the skeet range as the guys with 8,000quid guns. I had it for about 3 years then sold it for the same amount i paid for it originally. Wish id kept it now!
