shooter.

I'd maybe shoot one if it was about to cuddle up to me (if I could stop crapping my pants long enough) but with my max calibre being .243 would it have the legs to do the job or just **** the damned thing off even more, and would I have time to get the shot in?

Do you want me to play out with you but I'll bring the 30 cal.

Charlie,

I can only think the reason the hunt packs haven't flushed them (to my knowledge) is the noise the average hunt makes. These cats are shy by nature and will be long gone before they can be flushed including up a tree with some species. ;) Secondly hounds that riot on the scent of other mammals are not generally appreciated so that could be a reason? :hmm:

Input from NTTF on his cat hounds appreciated.

you are quite correct in what you say, cats are indeed shy and would slink off at the slightest excuse.

However as someone who's first love is hunting and who rides to hounds twice a week and sometimes more for the past 50 years I still find it extrodinary that if there are indeed big cats at large a hunt has not flushed one. A lot of the areas in which cats are reported are large moorland areas such as Bodmin Moor, Exmoor etc. If one takes into account the number of people out hunting and the area of ground a pack will draw in a day, they are fairly quiet when drawing, I reiterate I am surprised that if they do exsist one has not been flushed over the years.
