garyb
Myself and Stealth Stalker headed out last night... with our latest recruit (my girlfriend) for a spot of stubble lamping. Total tally was 6 foxes, off one field! I'm to tired to write a big story - so here's the pics! Anyway a cracking night, enjoyed by all (less the gingers) - and I was pleased to finally prove my home load development, as 3 of them were undone by 55grn of Sierra spitzer pushed by 26.5grn of Varget The other 3 we're taken care of by SS and his .243 Superb! Stealth Stalker
T'was a good nights foxing with the foxy assistant Her enthusiasm is unbelievable, she's proved to be a dab hand on the lamp, learnt how to pee gut & hock a rabbit (without gloves & better than Gary) is the first to jump out the motor (Daisy Duke style) B) to retrieve what ever is shot. And sounded dissapointed at 1.30am when we decided to call it a night & not visit the other land I had baited up. The last pic was of the only vixen of the night, shot as we were leaving the field. Mrs B chirps up "are you going back to fetch the other 5 foxes out of the ditch for the final photo" & also during the night when I had a particulary bad spell of pointing the rifle in the general direction of fox number 3 she comes up with the classic "whats the most number of shots you've ever had to try & hit one fox" (sense of humour as well) What Gary forgot to mention was we saw at least another 3 foxes in the same field So we will have to have another night out in the not to distant future SS
al4x
lovely night out seems like the area is full of them at the moment, we saw two last night and I pulled a shot on one at 40 yards it was coming in too fast and close really irritating especially when the following shot to check zero on a 150 yard rabbit was spot on this is the first year I can remember going out and seeing a fox every time I've been out just shows they've had a good breeding season. Most of my ground is waiting harvesting as well since the combine broke before going onto the wheat.

Your not wrong there Al4x, the field we were in last night is no more 500 yds from my house where I have taken out 4 breeding pairs in the height of the breeding season. Where do they all come from SS
al4x
do the farms round you get shot? I think ours are coming from other farms that aren't shot over and probably urban ones from Luton and wandering in, seems like last light just before you need the lamp that they appear. Last nights were irritating as hell we'd just stopped sitting in the truck and were getting geared up to go up on the back checked the lamp was working and the ******* were just coming out of a hedge. Got the caller going and one rushed in hence me in rushed fashion pulled it while trying to balance in a not ideal fashion on the back of the pickup shame as i'd not missed one up till then and hate to educate young gullible cubs to lamping. Stealth Stalker
The farms round here get shot to ****, although I think I'm the only one out foxing? we do have a "nice" urban area nearby that is a breeding ground for vermin We had 2 last night that needed an 'Oi' to stop em, think they might have jumped in the motor! Beardo
it's funny isn't it - i have one farm, that i'm the only person who shoots rifle on it - only ever seen 2 foxes on it (in 2 years), the other farm i shoot is shot over by loads of people and i see dozens of foxes on it! Beardo
nope. the foxless farm is covered in Muntjac and vice-versa
al4x
mm we've lots of muntjac as well as foxes, guess they may be picking up the scents from the two release pens as they're pretty full at the moment but it still seems unusually busy fox wise. Only one earth on the farm as well and that got filled in yesterday as it had appeared in the middle of a rape field.
