unclestuffy
What is the best size shot and weight of cartridge to shoot rabbits with a SG? Currently I have no.6 28g for birds and wanted to enquire if this is a good option or whether I need to buy heavier? Thank you
Edward
get some 32grm 6s then that will do for everything
Tobyb525
I would advise a tight choke for rabbits so you can ensure no runners. As above 28-32 of 6 is fine
webber
I use 32gms 5s for rabbits, but pigeon loads will also work. webber
shotgun666
5 or 6s do the job in 28=32g

wabbitbosher
What is the best size shot and weight of cartridge to shoot rabbits with a SG? Currently I have no.6 28g for birds and wanted to enquire if this is a good option or whether I need to buy heavier? Thank you Check the proof on your gun , if its an older side by side then it might be 2 1/2 inch chamber , if so One/ you can only use 2 1/2 inch cartridges Two/ you should only use 30 gram loads or lighter if its a 70mm (2 3/4 inch) chamber than you can go up to a 32 g without a problem All the best Wabbit But a 30 or 32 g no 5 or 6 should do the trick

MerseaDavid
I use 6 shot 32 gram Eley HP pigeon cartridges for all my shooting from pigeons to rabits and they work well
wildfowler.250
Generally 6's in 28 grams n up. Some 7 1/2's 28 grams work well but others are rubbish

A Runner is one that you havn`t dropped, will probably be injured, not a good idea to have em running back to there hole to suffer !!
