What is the best size shot and weight of cartridge to shoot rabbits with a SG?

Currently I have no.6 28g for birds and wanted to enquire if this is a good option or whether I need to buy heavier?

Thank you

Check the proof on your gun , if its an older side by side then it might be 2 1/2 inch chamber , if so One/ you can only use 2 1/2 inch cartridges Two/ you should only use 30 gram loads or lighter

if its a 70mm (2 3/4 inch) chamber than you can go up to a 32 g without a problem

All the best

Wabbit

But a 30 or 32 g no 5 or 6 should do the trick

Thank you - I have bought several of each to see which is best for me.

Excuse my ignorrance but what is a runner?

A Runner is one that you havn`t dropped, will probably be injured, not a good idea to have em running back to there hole to suffer !!
