3" cartridge in a 3" chamber?

Quick question chaps & chapesses, I have a Beretta 686E which I'm taking out for a little bit 'o wildfowlin'. My gun is steel proofed and is marked as having a 3" chamber, can I therefore use a 3" cartridge in it or can I only use a 2 3/4 to allow for the crimped end to open up properly?

Daft question maybe but I generally only use the tiny little Hull 21g's in it for clay bashing. Thanks in advance.
