Injured roe in Blackboys, Sussex.

It's a long shot I know but does anyone stalk or know of anyone that stalks in Blackboys, East Sussex?

On the off chance anyone does, there's an injured roe buck that looks like it's been hit by a car as its back legs or hips are damaged and the poor thing was virtually running and stumbling sideways with back legs locked together. It made it through a hedge into a wood but really didn't look well.

RSPCA or Police should have a list of deer managers trained in humane dispatch. A trained deer dog may be needed to follow up the poor beast for a quick end to its suffering, best to allow the deer to settle and stiffen, being full of adrenaline they can travel along way if pursued.

Hope this gets resolved soon, keep us posted if you get an update. :good:

Do you have an exact location?

Ive pasted your post on Stalking Directory..

Thanks moor man, and thanks for the pm. It ran down Chapel Lane, Blackboys and about 100 yards before it got to Tickerage stream it turned south west into a wood with a large pond. There are a couple of woods nearby but deer tend to stay in the area between Chapel Lane and Nursery Lane.

I am not sure how far Dekers is away from this location, but if you get in touch with him I am sure he has a humane method of dealing with this beast. Actually sorry I am of course mistaken as he will probably think that it will brave the injury and go on to live a normal life including mating or in the case of a Doe giving birth in the future. :good: .
